Celebrate WSET’s Wine Education Week in one of today’s most interesting wine regions in the world, the Okanagan Valley in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. WSET and Cru Classe Hospitality Corp. present “Okanagan by Osmosis”, a 5-night wine soaked, luxury experience of the wine industry here, as well as the bountiful beauty of the region…a luxurious wine tour and more!

 

This exclusively curated tour is led by WSET Certified Educator, Lara Victoria, DipWSET, CSW. Her expertise and passion will take you to some of the most prominent wineries of the region. From pioneering icons, to progressive modern producers and wineries of all sizes, we welcome you through cellar doors and tasting rooms that often open only to a select few. You will also taste the culinary bounty of the region, from memorable winemaker’s feasts to idyllic picnics on vineyards. You will also enjoy a casual barbecue on Okanagan Lake. In addition to tasting your way through the region you will also experience the jaw-dropping beauty of the Okanagan. Ride the historic Kettle Valley Steam Train and bike your way through the Naramata Bench.

Here's what is in store for you:

Day 1 – Kelowna:

Check-in at the picturesque 4- star Cove Lakeside Resort. After a welcome orientation, you will be whisked off to one of BC’s oldest estates, Summerhill Pyramid Winery where organic wine growing and production practices are a way of life. We will start the tour with a sparkling wine sabring demonstration followed by a tour of the unmistakably impressive pyramid as you taste their award-winning wines. Afterwards, surrender to a sumptuous winemaker’s feast complete with perfectly paired wines.

Day 2 – Kelowna, Summerland:

After breakfast we set out to BC’s iconic wine industry leader, Mission Hill Family Estate. Take a tour of their vineyards, wine glass in hand as you learn about the regions diverse soils and microclimates. Continue with a gourmet garden lunch before you head off to your next Okanagan adventure! A ride on the historic Kettle Valley Stream Railway. Built more than 100 years ago, this heritage train is an integral part of your Okanagan experience. Ride through lush orchards, undulating vineyards and soak in bucolic views of the lake on the train. We will then continue visiting more wineries, including another stalwart of BC’s wine industry, Sumac Ridge Estates. Taste through some of their specially selected wines for this tour. After a full day of wine, adventure and food, we shall enjoy a charcuterie meal with wines to sign off the day. We shall then check-in at the exquisite 4-star Penticton Lakeside Resort and Convention Centre that sits at the edge of Okanagan Lake.

Day 3: Naramata, Penticton:

Following breakfast, we shall ride our way through the Naramata Bench and then stop for a picnic lunch at a winery. Afterwards, we shall hop on a coach as it takes us sipping through some of Naramata’s best. Return to the hotel for an afternoon break and then we’re off on a cruise of the Okanagan Lake where we shall enjoy a casual barbecue dinner before returning back to the hotel.

Day 4: Osoyoos, Black Sage Bench:

Check-out after breakfast and our coach will take us to our next hotel, the grand 4-star Spirit Ridge Resort, surrounded by vineyards, the glistening Osoyoos Lake and the majestic Okanagan Range which is part of the Cascade Mountains. We shall then visit Nk’Mip Cellars, the first Indigenous-owned winery in North America. You will immediately experience the proud legacy and dedication of the Osoyoos Band as you witness their commitment to excellence in their vineyards and cellars. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at the Patio Restaurant that offers breathtaking views of the vineyards beyond. Take a break to explore the resort on your own, catch a nap or simply sip some wine on the patio, before we head out to visit more wineries in Oliver. We end the day with a cooking demonstration where we shall dine on the creations of our culinary team. Of course..there will be wine!

Day 5: Similkameen, Golden Mile:

After breakfast, we shall drive to Similkameen to visit none other than Master Winemaker, Howard Soon, recipient of the Order of Canada who will guide us through the vineyards and cellars of Vanessa Vineyard. After that we drive to Golden Mile where we shall visit another icon of BC’s wine industry Tinhorn Creek Vineyards. After a tour and tasting, surrender to the culinary magic at their award-winning restaurant, Miradoro. After a fully satiating afternoon lunch return to the hotel after popping by another winery on the way if you are up for visit! You have the rest of the afternoon free to explore the resort or whatever your heart desires! We shall meet again later in the evening for a wrap-up dinner to celebrate all the experiences we’ve enjoyed throughout this tour.

BONUS: As this is an exclusive tour to celebrate WSET’s Wine Education Week, those interested will get the opportunity to answer the WSET Level 1 Award in Wine on Day 5 of the tour, at no extra charge. What a concept! Indulge in a luxurious wine-drenched experience of the Okanagan and return home with a WSET certification!

Day 6: Osoyoos:

Breakfast and check-out.

Cost: $2,999 CAD + GST, per person, based on double occupancy / Single supplement $1,399 + GST
